Kohler Distributing Company was started in 1947, when Andy and Irene Graham bought the business from a small distributor in Haledon, New Jersey. At the time they were selling 50,000 cases of beer a year.
In 1960, needing a larger warehouse, due to increased sales, Kohler Distributing Company moved to Paterson, New Jersey. By 1980 sales grew to over 500,000 cases per year. Again, needing a larger warehouse, they moved to Hawthorne, New Jersey.
In 1990 sales grew to over 3,000,000 cases per year, and Kohler Distributing Company again needed a larger warehouse. So they moved to Englewood, New Jersey. Enjoying 15 years of consecutive growth, and selling 5,000,000 cases per year, Kohler Distributing Company moved back to Hawthorne, New Jersey. This time they had their own 190,000 sq. ft facility built to accommodate the rapidly growing business.
Today Kohler Distributing Company is owned and operated by Andy and Irene’s sons, Gary and Scott Graham. They donated 3.2 acres of land to the town, and are involved in many charities, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Working with their customers, Kohler Distributing Company has donated over $500,000 in ten years.
